Senior School Production
Congratulations to the Senior school who played to record houses once again with their musical production of “We Will Rock You”.

Pupils of Years 9 – 13 gave two resounding performances and our thanks go to all concerned for their hard work and commitment to a thoroughly enjoyable end to a hectic term.

 
  Oakleigh House Production
All the pupils from age 3 to 9 took part in this year’s Christmas production ‘A Christmas Quest’.

Crash Scene Awareness Day
Ffynone Sixth formers participated in an innovative ‘Crash Scene Awareness Day‘ aimed at raising the awareness of young drivers to the consequences of driving at excessive or inappropriate speed.

Fire, Police and Road safety officers talked to the students and brought a smashed car with mannequins inside to demonstrate the injuries which can happen in road accidents. The project aims to shock new drivers into cutting their speed.
Ski Trip to Stowe, Vermont
The annual ski trip was an unprecedented success, in Stowe, Vermont USA. 55 pupils from Years 8 to 13 joined the trip which included a visit to Boston. The experience was fully enjoyed by all and, as in previous years, the pupils were a credit to themselves and to Ffynone.

Recycling at Oakleigh House
We are now working towards achieving the Swansea Schools Recycling Scheme Gold Award. Everyone is involved in recycling batteries, ink cartridges, mobile phones together with paper, cardboard etc.

The School grounds have been improved by planting our free pack of trees from the Woodland Trust. All parents will be provided with a letter asking them to use Swansea City Council kerbside recycling scheme.
Abertawe Music Festival
The Abertawe Festival for Young Musicians takes place at the Guild Hall, Swansea. Approximately 30 Ffynone School pupils from Years 5 to 13 will participate.

Ffynone flute pupils will be working with internationally removed flute player, Atarah Ben-Tovim. Audiences are especially welcome and admission is free.
