| Ffynone has a strong tradition of extra-curricular sporting activities. Practices and clubs for table tennis, football, rugby, hockey, cross-country and gymnastics take place at lunch-times and after school. Fixtures against other schools, both independent and state schools, take place on a regular basis with a considerable measure of success. In the area gymnastic competition, Ffynone pupils have won medals for the last three years in succession and been successful in the Afan Nedd Tawe Cross Country Competition as well as in hockey and swimming events. We are extremely proud of the fact that Ffynone pupils gain honours at county, south Wales and National level every year. In the past Ffynone has seen pupils make it all the way to the Commonwealth Games, a number of present pupils have the potential to do the same and with encouragement we hope to see them succeed. However, we never lose sight of the fact that our aim is for every pupil to enjoy partaking in sporting activities and in so doing build up a real sense of team work. |
